Tourist Traps That Are Worth It: Stonehenge
I really loved Stonehenge.
I know. You've heard it's an overrated tourist trap, right? Or maybe you've even gone yourself and thought it wasn't worth it?
I've been to a couple other stone circles, some before and some after our trip to Stonehenge, and none have come close to the same feeling I got when I was there.
First of all, it's smack dab in the middle of nowhere, and the approach we took to it laid it out below us in a giant green field like an incomplete lego building. There are grazing sheep all around and part of me wonders if there is something special about these sheep just by virtue of living so close to Stonehenge.
Obviously, it is touristy. There's a visitor center, it costs approximately $20 to enter and there will be a lot of other people there when you go. I still don't think this takes away from the scope or importance of this site, and if you have a chance to go I think you should take it.
